'abhängigen Minen'

'abhängigen Minen'

I recently came across the term 'abhängige Minen' and am trying to determine the exact meaning. After do some more searching I get the impression it refers to 'remote controlled mines', can someone confirm this? (Or provide another meaning)n :wink:

Grundminen mit Fernzündung (abhängige Minen).
Base mines with remote detonation (dependent mines).?
Used in Limfjorden, Denmark according to text
