Thank you! Some say it says Hellmich and not Hellmuth.

In general names and signatures are difficult to read ( at least to me).
I read the last two letters of his name as th, so for me it looks like Hellmuth, which was a common first name in those days.
I never heard of Hellmich as a first name, but as a family name.
If he sends this picture to his beloved ones, it makes no sense for me signing this with his family name.
Any other comments welcome.
I am not quite sure, wheather the 46 tank kills refer to him or his unit. If it refers to him, it should be possible to identify him.
Any other information available with the writer?

I read "Hellmuth" as well, with the last two letters reading "th".
In an ending with "ch", the "c" would look different.

So there is no line above the "u" (in signatures not uncommon), but there also is no dot for the letter "i" if the name would read different.
