Help for Soldatenfreund name

#1

Post by BORDER1 » 03 Oct 2021, 15:25

Members,
In my collection I have this SS Soldatenfreund agenda. It was given to me by a Canadian Seaforth Highlander who helped to liberate my hometown in the Netherlands. Who can read his name? Hope I can find out more about the original owner.
Thanks.
Martijn

Hi Martijn,

I read the name as Ferdinand Grotrian.

I found one on Volksbund:

Ferdinand Grotrian
DOB: 25.08.1925 in Cramme
KIA/MIA: 07.03.1945 in Hungary
Rank: SS-Sturmmann

Best regards
Armin

Thank you very much Armin.
It amazes me how it came to the Netherlands.
