Post by Blanusa » 10 Oct 2021 15:46

Hello,

Can someone help deciphering the text from the backside of two photographs?

Best regards

Hi Blanusa,

The first pic reads:

Dr. Haas, ich, SS-Obersturmführer Thomaschewski,
SS-Sturmführer Tonig.
Nymwegen-Hees, Holland.
30.III.-2.IV.44
SS-Genesungskompagnie

This is probably Ostuf. Wilhelm Thomaschewski (8.7.1903) and Ustf. Heinz Thonig (1.9.1919).

The second pic reads the same except two more names,
are there female persons on the second one?

Best regards
Armin

Hello Armin,

Thank you very much for the reply! Actually both photos show females. I have attached them to correspond to the order as the backsides in the first post.

Best regards

Hi Blanusa,

Thx for the showing the front page. That makes sense.
So the caption was written by the female person on the first pic.

The others two names are Gunda Baur and Derle(?) Peifer. The handwriting of that lady ist hard to read.

Best regards
Armin
