Request some help to decipher two karteikarten

Post by remigr » 30 Jun 2023 21:23

Hi,

I've received from the Bundesarchiv two karteikarten from relatives my family lost at war.

There are some parts I could not translate myself and I would be glad if someone could help to decipher these few lines.

First document :
From what I could read :
Truppenteil 5.Pz.Gr.Rgt.14 / Pz.Gr.Rgt [...] Btl 13, [...]
Dienstgrad : Gefreiter
19.2.45 / I / 21.10.44 gefallen 11km [...] Gudden (note : it's the small village of Gudai, Lituania) [...]
[...]
22.2.[...] /
Image

Second document :
7.3.45 / 7.10.44 [...] Vidukle, Lituania vermisst
gemeldet [...] 2.Gr.Rgt.1094 [...]
[...]
Image

Many thanks in advance !

Hi remigr,
here are some additions to Jung:

21.10.1944 gefallen 1 km südl.(ich) Gudden Sgl.(Straßengabel?) hinter Ogf. (?). Grbl. (Grablage) Frhf. (Friedhof) Heinrichswalde a.r.L. 294lfd.# 9510

All other writings in red are made by Standesamt Kneitlingen u. Schöningen after the war.

Best Regards

Hi,

Thanks to both of you !

But what is the meaning of 'verl. Mldg. Vordr. I lfd. N. 57 eingelangt 10.11.44' ?
There are too many abbreviations and the tips provided by the Bundesarchiv do not cover them all.

verl. Mldg. = verlässliche Meldung
Vordr. = Vordruck or vordringlich
lfd. = laufende
N. = Nummer

I would assume it should read: "verlässliche Meldung [gemäß] Vordruck I, laufende Nummer 57, eingelangt 10.11.44"
