Riedel's SA stamp - translation?
Riedel's SA stamp - translation?
This is Herr Riedel's SA stamp from the back pages of his ID book. I can make out that he was a Rottenfuhrer , but the rest is tough to decipher. Can anyone read that writing? I'd appreciate any help that anyone can give. Thanks. The rest of the set can be seen in the "awards forum" under "Looking for an orignal GPB case." Thanks again.

Hallo Reini,
I hope I can help you
I think it isn´t written
... des Ihm verliehenen Ehrenzeichens ...
but
... des Ihm verliehen Ehrendolches
it means " Honor Dagger "
maybe Mark can confirm it

Yes, "Ehrendolch". Makes more sense, too.

Why?
Thanks for all the help , guys. Why does it make more sense with "Honor Dagger" than the other? Does that qualify Riedel for all of the Honor awards? I guess that the ID is seperate from the citation and badges. That does make sense because I keep forgettting that Herr Riedel obtained these at different times , since I obtained them all together. Thanks again! My questions have been answered.

Re: Why?
"Ehrenzeichen" is a very generic term, and I just found it stange that an authorisation to wear an award never actually specifys the award in question.Reini wrote:Why does it make more sense with "Honor Dagger" than the other?

Thanks
Thanks for the insight. I think you are correct about the name , but I didn't even notice the "i. V." Very interesting. There were quite a few books that needed signing , so the Sturmfuhrer would need an assistant to do a lot of the work , I imagine. You guys have really helped me out and I appreciate it. All in just a few hours , too!
