Help on German Imperial Navy document

#1

Post by Douglas Jr. » 08 Dec 2003, 20:40

Hello all,

Can someone translate this document for me? It is a certificate that came together with a Militarpass of a sailor from the German Imperial Navy. In my opinion it is a discharge document, but I´m not sure.

Many thanks in advance.

Douglas.

I can't read all the cursive, but it's an award document for some sort of land based service, 2nd class. Not much help, but a little.

Couldn't read all of it as it's not Sütterlin but here's what i could translate:
Besitzzeugnis
Dem ...meisters Maat der
Albert Paul Neulieb
Bezirkskommando Kiel
Oberst und Kommandeur
Document of Possession

To the ?masters mate of ?
Albert Paul Neulieb
born in Kruczin district Bromberg (now Bydgoszcz in Poland), was awarded the second class Landwehr (territorial army) award by disposal of the 36th Infantry brigade on the 9th of december 1905.
District command Kiel
..the signature i cant read..
Colonel and commander

So it's a document verifying that this mate was awarded with the 2nd class Landwehr award

hope I could help

regards
robert
