Need a little German translated....

Post by Jeep Gal » 25 Mar 2002 03:07

I am hoping someone will translate the following for me:

"Ein Meissen"

It is engraved inside of a pocket watch along with the name:

H Grossel (two dots above the the o)

This watch was taken from a SS officer who was captured.

Thank you.

Meissen is a town on the Elbe. But I don't understand what "ein" means here.

Thank you, Friedrich for your reply.

Because the engraving is so small it is difficult for me to tell if I read it correctly. Would "Ein Meibben" be understandable? Also, that would
make the name H. Grobbel.

Thanks for any help out there.
