Superb album and thanks to the owner for sharing.
Just a few remarks on the captions : as the photos in Ukraine were taken in 1941, the tanks do not belong to the Wiking division but to a Heer unit. The commander of III./Nordland was SS-Stubaf. Plöw, not Blöw. In the picture Nr.69 showing Felix Steiner, Herbert-Otto Gille is standing on the right.

Thanks for sharing. Beautiful photographs.
Another note: The airplane is not a Feisler Storch, but a Fieseler Storch.

"At right, a Municipal building flies the Government service flag..." The building is the Borsig Palais, part of the New Reich Chancellery, on the corner of Voss and Wilhelmstrasse.

Rare photos showing Helmut Müller who will lead SS-Pz.Gren.Rgt.9 "Germania" during the last stages of the war.
Re: SS-Hstuf. Hans-Jörg Hartmann
Hello Charles,
Very interesting pictures indeed.
However, please note that the respective pictures of Müller do not show Helmut Müller but Günther Müller, at that time CO of 9./SS-Nordland. He was killed October 4, 1942 while serving as CO of 5./SS-Nordland.
Even more interesting is the picture of Hans J. Schröter (born March 10, 1915), killed as CO of 11./SS-Nordland October 2, 1941. The career of Hans Schröter is a mystery ( at least to me). He has no SSO- nor RS-file. Further more, I could not find any record confirming his doings before taking over the lead of 9./SS-Nordland in 1941 and assume that he came from the police to Wiking somewhere after June 1, 1941.
Maybe someone can tell us more about him.
Best regards,
Dikeman

Correction of my 22 April 2018, 21.40 post:
"Hans J. Schröter taking over the lead of 9./SS-Nordland in 1941" should (of course) read "Hans J. Schröter taking over 11./SS-Nordland in 1941"
Best,
Dikeman

Re: SS-Hstuf. Hans-Jörg Hartmann
Ooops, I did not take notice of the unit. Do you know if Günther and Helmut Müller were brothers because they really have the same face ?
Re: SS-Hstuf. Hans-Jörg Hartmann
Günther Müller was born (1917) in Stuttgart, Helmut Müller (1914) in Kiel. Brothers? I don't think so. However, the possibility that they had the same parents and these parents moved from Kiel to Stuttgart after Helmut and before Günther were born, technically can't be ruled out.
Best,
Dikeman
