I guess that's one off the purposes from this forum and it's interesting to discuss things with others.

Take the case off Kniep, the Hstuf I did found in one of your reports. I had W. Kniep in my files and he
turned out to be identical to the Hstuf Kniep. And then I also had something written down about that
Kniep who served with the 'Nürnberg' Bataillon and he's also identical to W. Kniep. So this was of
course all very interesting for me and for sure I'll ask questions again when I wanna know something.

Here is a different style of report that should be especially useful to the people who are matching known names to people reported as KIA on the preceding daily reports submitted by the divisions. This report from March 12, 1942 lists the names, birth dates and unit assignments of 688 officers killed during the first 8 months of the war. The names are organized alphabetically according to the position held. Unfortunately, the date of death was not recorded.
