Max Pauly, SS-Sturmbannführer, SS-Nr 5 448, Kommendant K.L. Stutthof (September 1939 - 31 August 1942), tradesman, before II war was Führer 130 SS-Brigade Danzig, in september 1942 he became Kommendant K.L. Neuengamme. In juni 1945 sentenced to death and hanged.

Thank you, Wojtek, for an excellent and informative post. And welcome aboard! Interesting to note that you post from the epicenter of the outbreak of World War II, Gliwice (formerly Gleiwitz / Schlesien), scene of the faked "Polish invasion" carried out by SD men against the German radio transmitter there.

I doubt there is any other place on the internet where one can learn more about concentration/extermination camp staffing!

Some information about Naujocks

Alfred Helmut Naujocks (20.9.1911 - ?), SS-Sturmbannführer. His surname comes from Lithuania. He finished realschule (realschool) and vocalitional medical school. Member NSDAP (joined in 1931), member SS (joined in August 1931), member SD (joined in spring 1934). He work Abwehr-Ost (Amt III, then Amt IV). He was in eastern front to december 1941, he come back to Berlin in 1942. He was ill. In 1940 he wasn't already member SD [second version: january 1941]. Since september 1942 to september 1944 he worked as military official in Belgium. In January 1944 he was in Danemark for special mission for Himmler. In october 1944 he came to allies. Also he was in Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler.

Hello i have a question. Is the spelling of Name of "Leiter der Geldverwaltung" Hapke correct? Or is the right spelling Happke? My grandfather Erich Happke born 28.03.1906 in Danzig were SS-Guard in Stutthof. Is he this person?

I have Emil Wenzel, SS-Uscha., born 03.01.05, guard in KL Stutthof, extradited on 16.05.47 by the British, sentenced to 10 years in Gdańsk on 31.10.47, no info about the date of release.

Possible that he was born somewhere in Ostpreußen but i'm not sure.

No other info about him.

SS-Oberscharführer Erich Happke is correct, born 28.03.1906, SS #190903
from 09.1939 to 1945 Standortkommandantur Stutthof, from 1942 economic department

and

SS-Oberscharführer Hans Happke, SS #49281
from 09.1939 Standortkommandantur Stutthof
