Re: Registers of Waffen-SS Officers from KTBs
Hello John,
That looks interesting for sure indeed, will be something for the long and cold winternights to dig in.
Regarding the SS-Kavallerie Training and Replacement Organization.
When I'm correct in 1941 this was called SS-Kavallerie-Ersatz-Abteilung 'Warschau' and from the end of 1944 this was called the SS-Kavallerie-Ausbildungs- und Ersatz-Regiment 'Beneschau'.
And yes, in my files I did find SS-Ostuf Ernst Imhof commanding the 1. Ersatz-Schwadron but I didn't had the information he was a platooncommander with 3. Schwadron from the SS-Totenkopf-Reiterstandarte in 1939 already so you see, these postings are very usefull for sure....
Greetings,
Mike

Re: Registers of Waffen-SS Officers from KTBs
Hello John,
Hope you can help me with the following.
On page 22 from this thread there's the document Kav-Rgt-1-March-1941----2.jpg and there's the 3. Zug from the
4. Schwadron with SS-Ustuf Erich ????. I can't read the familyname from this officer, so hopefully you can help me out.
And there's also the 5. Schwadron, but what's written between 5. and Schwadron, is it maybe Kav. Gesch.????
Thank you,
Mike

Re: Registers of Waffen-SS Officers from KTBs
The name is Erich Brockmann.
The 5. Schwadron was Kavallerie Geschütz then, a form of very light artillery similar to the 13 (IG) Kompanie of an infantry regiment.

Re: Registers of Waffen-SS Officers from KTBs
Hello John,
Thank you very much for Erichs familyname, I really couldn't make anything out of it.
And thanks for confirming that part about the 5. Schwadron, I already thought it meant 5.(Kavallerie-Geschütz/Kav. Gesch.)Schwadron.
Take care and thanks again,
Mike

Re: Registers of Waffen-SS Officers from KTBs
This list that identified SS-Haupsturmführers in SS-Kavallerie Rgt. 1 with their promotion points along with documents in their personnel files and period photos helped identify the most probable owner of a tunic found in Bad Tölz and recently acquired by a collector in Canada. The original owner of the uniform was the Ritterkreuzträger Hanns von Charpentier!

Re: Registers of Waffen-SS Officers from KTBs
I'll begin posting the SS-Obersturmführers and below next time.
For those who are interested, I have yesterday started posting on Feldgrau copies of the SS-Verordnungsblatt where promotion orders of all SS officers were announced during 1934 - 1943.
