#1

Post by Mikedc » 24 Sep 2006, 21:47

I managed to scrape together the following about this officer.
But as you can see there are blank spots, hopefully somebody can fill those in for me...

Siegfried Conrad.
Member SS(nr. ??).
He followed at an SS-Junkerschule and he got promtoed to SS-Untersturmführer.
In 1938/1939 he served with SS-Totenkopf-Standarte ‘Thüringen’.
Before WW-2 he also served with the SS-VT.
He got promoted to SS-Sturmbannführer.
He was IVa within the Staff from 9. SS-Panzer-Division ‘Hohenstaufen’.
He was also IVa within the Staff from 11. SS-Freiwilligen-Grenadier-Division ‘Nordland’.
He was also commander from SS-Wirtschafts-Bataillon 11 within the
11. SS-Freiwilligen-Panzergrenadier-Division ‘Nordland’.
Later on he was also IVa within the Staff from 16. SS-Panzergrenadier-Division ‘Reichsführer-SS’.
After WW-2 he was a member from a vet-organization.
He was still alive in May 1990.

Thanks for any given additional info.
Greetings,
Mike

Hey guys,

Thank you very much for the info, it brings me a bit closer already and therefor
it's much appreciated.

Let's see who can come up with some more info, especially about the dates
he served in all these units.

Greetings,
Mike

Hello DrWaer,

Thanks for the award date, that's good info.
But his SS-number was already mentioned by Juanjo and see no difference in the one you're posting here.....

I just did found this, they have it wrong obviously because on two other sites they give 10-1-1945 as the date of this award, just as DrWaer is telling us..

http://www.ww2awards.com/person/7653

And can anyone confirm that S. Conrad was IVa with 16. SS-Division???

Hm, according to Divisions-Tagesbefehl Nr.2 of the 'Hohenstaufen'-Division Conrad was versetzt to the 18.SS-Pz.Gren.Div...
