I know the standard info (DoB, PoB, SS-Nr.) on this man. He was CO of Bandenkampfschule Duino/Devin. Does anyone have any other info on him, specially on his work in school?

Bareuther joined the SS on 1 Nov 38 and NSDAP same day (6 760 127) previously served with Heer Inf Regt 9 from Oct 1923 to Mar 1925 as Gefreiter. Served with SS-TIR.1 Sep/Oct 39, then SS-Pol Regt 1 Oct/Nov 1939, then back to TIR.1 then 4/SS-T.Inf.E.Btl.1 as Ustuf (1. Jun 40) from Jun 1940 to Jan 1942 then to Lublin.

He joined Globocnik's team 1 Jan 42 SSuPF Lublin Abt RuS and was with his RuS team in OZAK until he disappeared.

Hej, I found this post today. I'm in an ongoing genealogy hunt. I already received a lot of information from the german archive. What I can say is that Adolf Bareuther changed his name after WWII into Wilhelm Riedel an lived in Darmstadt/Eberstadt (Gerrmany) after the return from Brazil. It would be great if anyone can confirm that this person on the picture is Adolf/Wilhelm.THX

Thanx. So it is confirmed, Adolf Bareuther turned into Wilhelm Riedel, maybe around 1944. I found another picture of him, on the left beside Himmler, I guess. It's still a mystery for what he was responsible and how was he connected to Himmler. The current lane leads to Poland.

So mainly it's about my grandpa who "disappeared" in 1945 (Photo is from 1945) in Italy. But he "came" back as Wilhelm Riedel. If your question is regarding the group picture right in front of the small buildings it's (from the left/1944):

- Adolf Bareuther/Wilhelm Riedel
- Himmler
- XXX
- Maybe Odilo Globocnik (on the right)
