Ordnungspolizei : german police battalions july 39 august 42.
The encyclopédie of Massimo Arico a fellwo member is the third book published in english on the subject and the most complet. It deal with the whole battalions : organisationnal aspects and action since the beginning till their incorporation into Police Regiments.
Fully referenced with a lot of foot notes giving, it provide a lot of informations.
Interesting charts upon units.
the pictural part with a number of unpublished pics is interesting. Therefore most pics are from private source and show policemen posing in various situations . I regret not enough war correspondant pictures of units in actions and portraits of battalions commanders.
Lack of Biographical infos on main batt. C.O. of which a number rose to higher duties.
Finally, I recommand warmly this book with very pertinent analysis. A reference on this subject to have.
I will not speak of the publisher because he is not my friend.

Georges.

Der Judenmord in Polen und die Deutsche Ordnungspolizei 1939 1945 by Wolfgang Curilla is the second volume on this author on the same subject (1st in White Russia). a Standard master book on the subject.
Based upon referenced sources, it give a very good account upon action and offices and units of Ordnungspolizei stationned in Poland. it give also interesting datas on leaders of Orpo units and offices.

1034 pages with registers (names, units, and places). Now on my shelves.

I keep getting this website. I just said that I had all of Mark Yergers books on on the German Cross in Gold Holders of the Waffen-SS. Das Reich Division, Nordland Regiment and Division, Cavalry Units and Police Units (with SS-Staf Otto Giesecke on the front). I have these, so is Vol 2 of Polizei Div expected shortly? Any response greatly accepted. Thanks
