Thanks, that was also my thought.

BTW, what's your source that Oetter served in/as "NZ" (you mean Nachrichtenzug?) SS-PzAA1 on 15.09.1941? AFAIK he served with the Nachrichtenabteilung of the Wiking Division until he was transfered to Braunschweig as an officer candidate in November 1941.

one horrible thing about me, as I put all of my stuff on Excel , I do not document the source, as I have no room for it. Had you not inquired about Rosch today, while it was fresh on my mind, I would have not remembered the LINK to substantiate my source . und ja, NZ ist Nachrichtenzug, and I vaguely recalled that was the unit he was in when he was promoted Uscha.

Hope you work it out, I presume they died of their wound from the day before.
Oetter was fatally wounded in the evening of 30.11.1944 and taken to the Hauptverbandplatz. The doctor soon realized there was nothing he could do to save him but it is possible that Oetter died after midnight, which would explain why 01.12.1944 is used as date of death.

That seems impossible...

Oetter was promoted to SS-Uscha on 1 June 1941 and was awarded the EK2 on 20 July 1941. Mentioned "Hofer" is Hans-Georg Hofer, Chef 1./Nachr.Abt.5 (Wiking)

My pleasure, there will be a very detailed account of the deaths of Oetter and Rösch in my book about Gustav Knittel.

Not bad at all. Most has been completed, just a few chapters left that need additional details. Unfortunately this includes a lot of little mysteries that are impossible to solve 70+ years later with all the eyewitnesses gone. But I've given myself a deadline: November 2014 it's Knittels 100th birthday and December 2014 the killings in and around Stavelot are 70 years ago, so I'm aiming at having the book available in October/November 2014.

Hmm, they do not show up the way they should: each page is A4-sized with three columns of text

There are no such plans yet. The manuscript is in German and as long as I'm working on detailing it there's no English translation.
