Thanks for the list, I've been looking for something like this for some time.

Another few names I can add to the list are:

1.) Reich Justice Minister Otto Georg Thierack who committed suicide in Sennelager, Paderborn, by poisoning before he could be brought before the court at the Nuremberg Judges' Trial.

2.) Reich Education Minister Bernhard Rust who committed suicide on 8th May 1945, the day of the German surrender.

I still believe Gustav Wagner was murdered, probably by Sobibor surivivor Szlomo Szmajzner.

Best regards.

Jakob Sprenger, Gauleiter of Hessen-Nassau, is another name to add to our list. He committed suicide on 8th April 1945 in Tyrol, Austria rather than fall into Allied hands.

Otto Rasch:

I notice in one of the posts above the comment that Rasch died in US custody. This is not correct.

Rasch was released from US custody because of Parkinsons Disease and returned to the British authorities. They released him to his home where he died on 1 Nov 1948. His body - so I am informed - was exhumed from the local cemtery in the place he died, and re-buried in Berlin.

SS-Obergruppenfuhrer Hans Kammler is another suicide. Killed himself near Prague on 9th or 10th May 1945 rather than fall into Allied hands.

Hans Kammer

Mike Miller's full biography details of Kammler are in this topic:

http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?t=13942

Albert Speer, Dr. Wilhelm Voss and Generalmajor Walter Dornberger also give roughly the same testimony in various publications that Kammer either took poison or ordered his adjutant to shoot him when the military situation became hopeless in the Prague region, May 1945.

Kind regards.

Edouard Roschmann is listed here. He was called the "Butcher of Riga" in the book and film called, "The Odessa File". I believe he died in 1979, Paraguay, after being on the run. Did they ever find his body?

Roschmann died on 10.08.1977 in a hospital in Asuncion/Paraguay. He was identified without any doubt because of his injuries from his flight from custody (frozen toes) in Dec. 1947.

Thank you. I was beginning to lose sleep over the dead Nazi issue. I believe Martin Sandberger is the last major living Nazi, at age 99. There are other lesser Nazis and more helpers "Hiwis". I believe they claim Alois Brunner, one of the absolute worst Nazis, responsible for the deportation of the French Jews, is believed to be dead. Aribert Heim was declared dead. But more than this, I won't say. What if one of their relatives is reading this?

PS: One of the worst "Hiwis" was "Ivan Marchenko" , aka Ivan the Terrible. He was last seen alive at San Sabba, a hastily improvised camp in Trieste. Trieste is in Italy, although it has been at times part of Yugoslavia. He was involved in murdering by gassing and cremating them in Treblinka death camp, and at San Sabba as well. The trail of what happened to him then grows mysterious. He was with Globocknic, who is listed as being captured by the British (picture is listed above). Does anyone know more -- did he die in Trieste?

Thanks.

Has it been confirmed that SS Friedrich-Wilhelm Krüger committed suicide? One site I looked at claimed it was his brother's body in the grave, as he committed suicide as well or in lieu of Friedrich-Wilhelm . Danke.

Hello
I dont understand the writing below:
The moderator had to disconnect the following Generals/Admirals.
They do not belong to the superordinate concept "war criminals" in this context !!
It should not be allowed to measure everything by the same yardstick !!
And this admiral :
Otto von Schrader (born March 18, 1888 in Lyck, East Prussia, † 19 July 1945 in Bergen, Norway(suicide) was a German naval officer, Admiral during World War II
Why is he not regarded as a war criminal by Dieter Z.
