Re: SS ID Quiz
Yes, thank you, but I'm not saying IT IS Klagges, just suggesting it looks more like him than Bouhler. I don't know who it is.
Let's move on.

Re: SS ID Quiz
Well, late Phil Nix, who first posted the photo online 15 years ago, said he thought it's Max Humps viewtopic.php?p=819215#p819215
But I don't know whether that's correct. I've seen Phil's ID suggestion and photo (cropped) copied elsewhere and presented as a fact though.
Was this ID actually ever confirmed?

Re: SS ID Quiz
No, it wasn't. Ivan is quite right to question this. I always doubted Phil's suggestion of Max Humps because Humps was a Blood Order holder and this Standartenführer does not appear to be wearing that decoration. Sadly, Phil's identification skills could not be described as accurate - he relied heavily on those of Jost Schneider, whose own ID skills were regularly found wanting. I do not recognise the Standartenführer, but I am leaning heavily against it being Humps. If that is correct, it illustrates perfectly the dangers of accepting one opinion on any internet forum as being sacrosanct. Valid supporting evidence of a suggestion, or just one identification, is therefore important, as some websites can use doubtful identifications as being fact and we then see a rollercoaster of incorrect information.Ivan Ž. wrote: ↑25 Aug 2020, 02:08Well, late Phil Nix, who first posted the photo online 15 years ago, said he thought it's Max Humps viewtopic.php?p=819215#p819215

An excellent example of an internet f*ck up ...
Today is 25 August 2020. As is their way, Google has manipulated their logo into a 'well known' event that falls on this day. Today's theme is celebrating the 117th birthday (on this day) of the sculptor Barbara Hepworth. Google has a nice little cartoon of a female sculptor tapping away at her latest creation. Click on the image and it takes you to the Wikipedia webpage on Barbara Hepworth. The trouble is, that gives her birthdate as 10 January 1903. My guess is, this will be taken down when Google realises it's faux pas. The moral of this story ... don't believe everything you read on the internet.
Max.

Max Humps, or not Max Humps, the answer is correct for Ivan Ž.....
I also had many doubts if this image was reliable

Hello to all / agreed to everything
I've copied our short discussion here, if anyone wishes to add something viewtopic.php?f=38&t=90609&p=2287838#p2287838
OK, here's a new - and very difficult one! Who is this Volkssturmmann (who may or may not be holding a flag in the full version of the photo)?
