SS-Hauptsturmführer....nice photo but without a hint I probably won't know. I have to do everything the hard way by searches since I don't have the expertise. I like trying though and I learn a lot along the way. While trying to find Klagges ( after the second hint) I thought it might have been Henlein (a gym teacher) and learned about Heydrich using the SD to diminish Henlein's power by digging up the Heinz Rutha affair. Then I learned about Heinz Rutha (never heard of him before). Anyway, just to illustrate how this quiz can lead down other avenues. I was surprised to learn Klagges got investigated for religious matters as Klagges I always understood to be staunch Nordicist / racialist and was a "gottglaubig" - nothing turned up in searches on the Gestapo investigation or refusal to leave the Church. I might wait this one out until a hint.

SS-Obersturmführer in this photo.
Klagges attended his son's church confirmation in SS uniform and was investigated as a result.

I don't think so...these men don't look the same. Eisfeld had no eyebrows.

Max is really good at these. I spent quite a bit of time searching on this one and even came across his name in one list but spent too much time looking for comparable images (images that one just can't find anywhere ). google images sucks! so many misidentified people and too much clutter and crap. I should have gone back and looked for the hints but there were so many names I checked by that point I was burned out. Interesting that this individual was spotlighted at the museum but has gotten no notice elsewhere. I wonder if he worked for Josef Kramer...they seem to have followed in the same camp footsteps. Good pick KLSS.
