Not him but you are hot on the trail. Like Ott, he was Einsatzgruppen officer - served under Arthur Nebe’s command.

A good picture. Is it Waldemar Klingelhöfer?

Re: SS ID Quiz
Sorry but no. He’s very well known and a bit of an oddball actually. A doctor of law who was first profiled anonymously by British psychiatrist Henry V. Dicks in a book on SS executioners.
Later in life (most bizarre) he “starred” in a film where he played “himself”. You all know who this is...I thought the photo still from the film was good (he looks like Peter Cushing in a horror movie)

Re: SS ID Quiz
Correct for lartiste. Filbert also had a brother
who went to America, lived there for a time but came back in 1938. He was not allowed to leave again. He was denounced for anti-Hitler statements after Georg Elser bombing and died
in Buchenwald. Filbert was ambushed on the set
of his films (directed by Thomas Harlan, son of Veit) by Holocaust survivors. When told by a survivor that his sister died in Auschwitz, Filbert
responded by saying “I lost a brother in Buchenwald”.

Re: SS ID Quiz
I agree Andrey, real monster.
Duncan - interesting, that (may be) half of Einsatzgruppen commanders were lawyers... .
