The recruitement forWaffen SS in the occuped was directed by SS Ersatzkommando (exemple SS Ersatzkommando Frankreich ou SS Ersatzkommando Flandern und Wallonien).

I'm looking for two sorts of infos:
1 - the list of theses Ersatzkommando.
2 - The names of the officers who where at the head of theses.
3 - Was the name SS Ersatzkommando or Ersatzkommando der Waffen SS
(I found the two names in books)

From 26.08.1943 the Wallonien were at the Congostraat 10, Brussel

Very interesting thread! I have a question that you guys maybe can help me with: how did the SS-Erzatskommandos (SS-HA Amt B) worked together with SS-HA Amt D "Germanische Leitstelle" in recruiting volunteers?

Hi

For what I know the SS Ersatzkommando in occupied countries had much to work with the
Ergänzungsamt of the SS HA who was led by Gottlob BERGER himself (he was too chief of
the SS HA) then by SS Gruppenführer Heinrich JÜRS.
It was the office competent in matter of recruitment. But perhaps this office was much planned
for recruitment into the Reich. I know it had authority on many Ergänzungsstelle der Waffen SS
(one by SS Oberabschnitt who was a territorial district)

PK -> the situation in Flanders:

Germanische leitstelle from 15 april 1942 it was called the Dienstelle Jungclaus

under the Dienstelle Jungclaus you had 3 groupes:

1 Ersatzkommando Flandern der Waffen SS
2 Stabsführer
3 Fürsorgieoffizier der Waffen SS in Flandern

1 Ersatzkommando main task was recruiting (opening recruiting offices throughout the country)

If someone entered the Waffen SS he came to the 'einstellung' they made sure that the recruit got as fast as possible to the trainingcamp and solve problems with transportation etc.

Then he came in the next step the 'Wehrüberwachung' this was the administration section were their interests were defended (holiday's -> leaf, also the administration from the dead and missing to help the relatives who stayed behind)

another 'unit' was for the DRK (Deutsche Rotes Kreuz) this was for the volunteer nurses.

the last 'unit' was trying to interst the youth movements to the Waffen SS for recruiting possibilitys later when they got the age, by organising 'wehrsportkampen'

And also the Feldpostunit to make sure that the post comes where it should.
