Stabswache

I have been gathering information about the original 117 members of Stabswache mentioned in Peter J. Hertel's list in Axis Biographical Research. The results are amazing. From a company sized unit came:
* 1 Oberstgruppenfuhrer
* 3 Brigadefuhrers
* 2 Oberfuhrers
* 3 Standartenfuhrers
* 9 Obersturmbannfuhrers
* 10 Sturmbannfuhrers
* 7 Hauptsturmfuhrers
* 5 Obersturmfuhrers
* 2 Untersturmfuhrers
or
* 1 Army commander
* 4 Divisional commanders
* 10 Regimental commanders
* 5 Batallion commanders
* 5 Company commanders
This must be a World Record! Especially because I'm sure that my files are far from complete. All additions and corrections are wellcome to this list of Stabswache members who became officers. The list is in seniority order and in the cases of 1 Oberstgruppenfuhrer and 3 Brigadefuhrers I have not used the correct term in their rank just to be able to fit one person into one row. I bet Dietrich tried to avoid his official rank (Oberstgruppenfuhrer und Panzer-Generaloberst der Waffen SS) when signing documents! Here comes:

1. Dietrich Sepp / Oberstgruppenfuhrer - 01 Aug 1944 / highest command: Army
2. Wisch Theodor / Brigadefuhrer - 30 Jan 1944 / Division
3. Witt Fritz / Brigadefuhrer - 20 Apr 1944 / Division
4. Mohnke Wilhelm / Brigadefuhrer - 30 Jan 1945 / Division
5. Reich Otto / Oberfuhrer - 01 Sep 1941 / Regiment
6. Kohlroser Martin / Oberfuhrer - 09 Nov 1944 / Division
7. Anhalt Gunther / Standartenfuhrer - 01 Jul 1944 / Regiment
8. Collani Hans / Standartenfuhrer - 22 Oct 1944 / Regiment
9. Scheide Rudolf / Standartenfuhrer - 30 Jan 1945 / Stab
10. Reitzenstein Hans-Albin / Obersturmbannfuhrer - 20 Apr 1943 / Regiment
11. Weidenhaupt Wilhelm / Obersturmbannfuhrer - 30 Jan 1944 / Batallion (?)
12. Wisliceny Gunther / Obersturmbannfuhrer - 20 Apr 1944 / Regiment
13. Siebken Bernhard / Obersturmbannfuhrer - 21 Jun 1944 / Regiment
14. Bunse Fritz / Obersturmbannfuhrer - 21 Jun 1944 / Regiment
15. Steineck Franz / Obersturmbannfuhrer - ??? / Regiment

21. Karck Georg / Sturmbannfuhrer - 01 Jul 1944 / Company (?)
22. Lux Max / Sturmbannfuhrer - 09 Nov 1944 / Regiment
23. Zeitler Alfons / Sturmbannfuhrer - ??? / Batallion
24. Beutler Friedrich / Sturmbannfuhrer - ??? / Batallion
25. Schurer Horst / Sturmbannfuhrer - ??? / ???
26. Linge Heinz / Sturmbannfuhrer - ??? / Stab
27. Brugmann Gerhard / Sturmbannfuhrer - ??? / ???
28. Schnettler Wittekind / Sturmbannfuhrer - ??? / ???
29. Jagla Georg / Hauptsturmfuhrer - 01 Oct 1933 / Left SS 27 Nov 1936
30. Benthen Hinrich / Hauptsturmfuhrer - ??? / Company
31. Streipart Fritz / Hauptsturmfuhrer - ??? / Company
32. Beerman Helmut / Hauptsturmfuhrer - ??? / Company
33. Bruhne Christian / Hauptsturmfuhrer - ??? / Company
34. Smolinski Heinz / Hauptsturmfuhrer - ??? / ???
35. Schmiedl Wilhelm / Hauptsturmfuhrer - 30 Jan 1939 / Downgraded later
36. Kath Hermann / Obersturmfuhrer - 04 Jul 1934 / ???
37. Harries Erhard / Obersturmfuhrer - 09 Nov 1936 / ???
38. Hoffelner Karl / Obersturmfuhrer - ??? / ???
39. Berger Gunther / Obersturmfuhrer - ??? / ???
40. Ziegner Gerhardt / Obersturmfuhrer - ??? / ???
41. Montel Willi / Untersturmfuhrer - 16 Mar 1934 / ???
42. Hrubesch Adolf / Untersturmfuhrer - ??? / ???
If there are ??? after the rank I'd appreciate if someone has info concerning their promotion dates and if there are ??? after the last / I'd like to have info about their highest command.

Regards,

Pena V

Helly Angel,

You probably mean Peter J Hertel's list which I was referring to. So I have the names but what became of those 117 men - that's the question.

Thanks anyway,

smetanin albert: As you have multitude of these original records, may I ask if you happen to have anything from early Stabswache period, March-April 1933, before their move to Lichterfelde barracks?

Excellent, thanks a lot! That seems to be a barracks guard schedule and order from July 1933.

one person from the list I didn't identify.
His name is Sorgenfrei.
His name is missing in the search for Invenio. Complex issue.
No one knows that name.
