SS-Ostubaf. Bannert

Helo folks,

Who has ever heard of a certain SS-Obersturmbannführer Bannert???

According to the 'Lexikon der Wehrmacht' website, see http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/Gli ... SKorps.htm , he was VI with XIII. SS-Armeekorps and he should have been succeeded by SS-Hauptsturmführer Christophersen. I've Hans Christophersen in my files but not Bannert and I also can't find anything about him.

Hope somebody can help me with this.

Nothing in ant DAL but he appears in "Endkampf zwischenMosel und Inn" by Spiwoks/Stöber spelt as Banert

Hello Phil,

Thanks for your answer. So probably they got it wrong in the 'Lexikon der Wehrmacht' website and because I can't find anything on Banert I think that's also incorrect.

Or this person was a Heer-officer and not an SS-officer, that's also still possible of course...

Hello Georges,

Yes, that's him, for sure. Thanks for telling us.
So on the 'Lexikon der Wehremacht' website and in the book Phil mentioned his name was spelled incorrectly.

It's not Bannert or Banert but Barnert and of course that makes a difference when you try to find somebody. So thanks again for clearing this one up Georges.
