Post by George_W » 22 Mar 2008, 01:43

Hello

I'm looking for info about SS-Stubaf. KD Arnold Kirste.
born 1901 in Jarotschin
07.1941-1944(?) with EG in Russia
Also he worked in Stapo Breslau (Abt.IV)
I found info that he was chief of Gestapo in Lublin in 1940 or 1941.

Arnold Kirste
SS-number 52.191
SS-Hauptsturmführer
At the end of 1941 he was liaison-officer for Gestapo-chief R. Lange in Riga with the Arajs-commando.
Promoted to SS-Stubaf on 20-4-1942.
Apparently he also served with an Einsatzgruppe in Russia but just as George_W I also don't know which one...

It's an old thread but maybe someone knows if Arnold Kirste actually served in KdS Lublin (maybe in the beginnig of the war, around 1940 or 1941)?.
It is possible that my source about his assignment to KdS Lublin was wrong.

Thank you. I have a note (from the book "Einsatzgruppen in Polen" by Mallmann and others) that Kirste was also the member of Einsatzkommando 1/III in Poland in 1939 and before the war served in Stapo Liegnitz. So it is possible that he was attached to KdS Lublin for some time at late 1939 or early 1940.

Thanks a lot!

Strange, but i can't find him in any DAL or BBL. Maybe someone knows what was his final rank in police? In 2008 i've wrote that he was KD (Kriminal Direkteur) but i can't confirm it now and to say honestly i don't have a source in which he would have been decribed as "KD".

In the book "Einsatzgruppen in Polen" he was described as Kriminalrat in 1939.

Finally i've found the source in which Kirste was listed as KD, attached to Abt. IV in Breslau. It was the document posted nearly 12 years ago on this forum, with the names of Sipo/SD officers in Breslau at the end of the war. The document was posted in this thread:

It's an old thread but here is the information about his postwar fate:

ARNOLD Hans Heinrich KIRSTE lived after 1945 (probably in 1960s) in Wiesbaden-Biebrich.
