Joe,
I believe the occasion was not a combined manoeuvre but the SS-Gruppe Ost 1933 three day August rally in Berlin. The SS camp was set up at Döberitz and this was where this photo was taken. The cuff titles would have been "Ost".

Joe,
Derek is right. It was the Appel of SS-Ost in 1933. This is one of a series of photos taken.
Max.

Anybody ever come across this book on Daluege in Spanish? “Titanes Del Tercer Reich: album fotografico de Kurt Daluege”? From what I can gather through translation, it’s got 245 photos from his personal albums.

I'd be very wary of this book. At just 15 Euros it rings alarm bells.

I don't know that book, I never saw it for sale, maybe it's edited by a neo-Nazi publising, such as the closed 'Europa' bookstore
in Barcelona, Spain, full of Holocaust deniers and xenophobic books.

Thanks for responses. I had purchased a copy prior to my question so I was interested about what I was getting. Seems like this is a little known curio . It looked interesting as such and it was inexpensive as Max suggests ($34 us incl. shipping - shipping was half the cost) - I probably bought a “lemon” I originally thought the handshake symbol on it was an anti fascist one (antifa colors black/ white/ red) but think now its neo fascist as thoma surmised. Of course it’s coming out of Spain. I’ll post something on it once I’ve received it and can review so everyone knows exactly the nature of this thing.

Lol….I wondered that myself. All of this curiousity might be for naught if it never even shows up. We’ll see.

I received the book and now can tell you what this is : a cheap production! After a short intro (in espanol) the rest of the book is photos of Daluege! All are well known and many have watermarks on them (such as “Getty images” lol - really, it’s that bad). One gets the impression that the photos were lifted directly from the internet or AHF and slapped into a book. Avoid / Pass / Dismiss.

You are not having much luck lately JD, first with the Heydrich biography and now this. It's always a pain to spend good money on books and then end up with a dud. I hope your next purchase is a better one.

Might I recommend this one which arrived for me earlier this week:

Mr Daluege is engrossed in chapter 2 already... 😉

Yeah, I’ve been striking zero recently. Thanks for the recommendation. I’ll try it.

¡Ay, caramba!

Thank you for your sacrifice in the interests of warning us against this sad piece of rubbish. "Getty images"-- bahahahaha!

You know who needs to do a massive photobiography of Kurt Daluege? A fellow called Max Williams.

Best wishes,
~ Mike

Hi I have seen this in my local bookstore is it worth purchasing? How does it compare to Berlin At War by Roger Moorhouse? I am thinking of visiting Berlin so any recommendations would be great.

Thanks

Recently I found these amazing photos of Daluege on internet. Does anyone have them without watermark? However only part of photo on the right is published in Mike Miller's book: Leaders of SS and german police - unfortunatelly.
