Hello everybody!

Who knows former SS-Standartenführer der Reserve Arthur Zimmermann, born 31. 3.1883 in Maliers/Oels, former Oberst of the Wehrmacht, transferred to the Waffen-SS in April 1943 in SS-Kraftfahr-Ers.Abt., in June 1944 in Amt VIII (Waffenamt der Waffen-SS) of the SS-Führungshauptamt, was dismissed by the Reichsführer-SS with effect September 30th 1944.
Any hints or remarks would be welcome

Regards yours Roland

Dear Phil,
many thanks for your answer, I had only the Dienstaltersliste WaSS 1.7.1944, where Zimmermann is mentioned as Staf.d.R. with effect April 1st 1943 and the additional comment “dismissed by the RF-SS by September 30th 1944”. In June/July 1944, he should be in Amt VIII of the SS-FHA, does the Dienstaltersliste from January 1944 mentioned any unit or office?!

Hello everybody,

I got new information about that SS-officer :D :

“ SS-Standartenführer Arthur Zimmermann wird mit Stabsbefehl Nr.11/44 des SS-FHA v. 27.4.44 vom SS-FHA, Amt VIII (m.W.v.1.4.44) zum SS-FHA als Amtschef für techn. Sonderaufträge versetzt“, after that, there were no further entries in these files, even the date, when Zimmermann was dismissed from the Waffen-SS was not mentioned.

See here too: http://forum-der-wehrmacht.de/thread.ph ... #post94972

Does anybody have further information concerning the Waffenamt der Waffen-SS or the above mentioned “Amt für technische Sonderaufträge” in this time period? :?

Here is an early structure (the only one I have  ) of the Waffenamt:
Gruppe I Organisation und Zeugverwaltung. Beschaffung, Abnehmer
Gruppe II Versuche und Entwicklung
Gruppe III Waffenmeistereien, Feldzeugwerkstätten

Regards yours Roland

There are times in history when staying neutral means taking sides.
