Hi, "von thoma"!
It can be а Fritz Teufel - Führer of the 27. SS-Standarte in Frankfurt/Oder.
But, unfortunately, I have not his photo.
Andrey.

SS-Of. Karl Heinz Bertling.
Re: Request for Identification of SS-officers
Who is this SS-Obersturmbannführer and a Knight's Cross holder, apparently in Bosnia, late 1943? (Probably an officer of the V SS Mountain Corps.)

Re: Request for Identification of SS-officers
Thank you Requin Marteau. Does anyone know who is the two officers (or at least the SS-Obersturmbannführer) with Fritz Witt?Requin Marteau wrote:SS-Of. Karl Heinz Bertling.

Already discussed only 4 pages ago! https://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic ... 3#p2133646 (Not identified though.)AlifRafikKhan wrote:Does anyone know who is the two officers (or at least the SS-Obersturmbannführer) with Fritz Witt?
Please let's wait a bit longer before posting and give previous posts more chance to be seen and perhaps identified. The impatient pilling up of new requests will only make mess.

The SS-Obersturmbannführer and a Knight's Cross holder, apparently in Bosnia, late 1943 is, I believe, Karl Schümers.

Re: Request for Identification of SS-officers
Thank you, Peter! To tell you the truth, that's the only name that comes to my mind too when I look at him. However, I don't think that he ever fought in Bosnia. But - to tell you the truth again - my impression the whole time was that the Wochenschau director simply took a suitable scene from a non-Bosnian war theatre and presented it as Bosnian (they did things like that). The narrator described the RKT as a "Geman troops leader" in an operation in Bosnia and no SS-Ostubaf. RKT who looks like that commanded an operation in Bosnia at the time (or ever), as far as I know. I believe that it is indeed Schümers, filmed elsewhere. (Any additional info/opinion is, of course, always welcome.)

Ivan
