I know this photo
bundesarchiv KL-Mauthausen

wikipedia said : ID is Franz Abromeit
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franz_Abromeit

but, I think
Alfons Bentele
more right.

reference:
viewtopic.php?p=2156015#p2156015

frankly, I'm confused which one is right..
Ummmmm... Sorry for my bad English.....
Never trust Wikipedia, it's packed with errors. In the Bundesarchiv, the source of the image, this man is unidentified. And since his face does match Bentele's, that's obviously who it is. You can see what Abromeit actually looked like here (he had a completely different face).

Cheers,
Ivan

Is this SS-Gruppenführer Friedrich Alpers ?
It seems to wear a Danzig Cross 1st class, but it doesn't figure in his record.
Many Thanks.

Does anyone knows when and where this pic was taken? And who is the SS-Hauptsturmführer at right?

It is the Festspielhaus in Salzburg. I believe the image dates from 1939. The left arm of Karl Wolff is just visible at extreme left.
