Heydrich's funeral

#1

Any idea who are these men attending the Heydrich's funeral in Berlin? I can recognize only Oberg far right and next to him maybe is Kurt Caul. Thanks.

There were a few senior SD men who did not attend. I suppose duty calls.

I think Ohlendorf just finished his service as an Einsatzgruppe Commander. Thanks Max. I thought that funeral of their boss was more important and leading could be taken by any of their deputies.

Is this photo from Heydrich's funeral or another ceremony? The photo's online source identifies the two children as Kurt and Heider.

NAC is correct. That is Heydrich's memorial service in the Mosaiksaal of the Reichskanzlei, 9. June 1942.

Not quite correct, Mike. The children's names are Heider and Klaus.
As in many photos from Poland, this one is ruined by the hand highlighting of edges.

It's striking that in such ceremony, Himmler is armed. Many pics of Himmler, always with the holster. Göring by contrast, wears ceremonial dress.
