Stroop was a "Fan" of "Hermann der Cherusker",who had a statue near Detmold.
"Arminius", Germanic leader, opposed to Roman conquest and victor of the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest.
" The right to believe is the right of those who don't know "

Hello Minotauros,

Actually it's Stroop in US captivity.
Photo was taken in Wiesbaden.

Hello,

Please correct me if I'm wrong.
I have my doubts about this man being Jürgen Stroop. I found another photo of Stroop. This one is from his trial in Warzaw and it can't be the same man. The man on Minotauros's photo is bald and on the trial photo taken some 3-4 years later he is not. There is a lot of pictures of Stroop on various websites and no one has any resemblance to this guy.

Hello,

In my opinion both photos shows Stroop.
The first one is from 1945, the second from 1951.
Of course i may be wrong, photo which was posted by Minotauros i've seen for first time in MacLean book
"The Ghetto Men" and there are some mistakes and inaccuracies in his books.
Agree that the second one is DEFINITELY Stroop.

I doubt as well that man on photo from 1945 is Jürgen Stroop...the shape of his ears is completely different...

Good point, Michal. He looks nothing like Stroop. The face is very familiar, however, and I may have seen it in the pages of one of Andreas' and Dieter's volumes of Die Generale der Waffen-SS und der Polizei (perhaps an SS-Brif.u.Gen.Maj.d.Pol., but I don't have access to my books at the moment).

Michal & Mike,
Now i agree it's rather not Stroop.
Unfortunately i don't have an idea who could it be.

We think alike- scary for you. I too thought Flade for a moment, and googled to find that same photo, but yes- had to discard him from the running.

Here is a good prison photo of Stroop made by the Polish authorities in 1951. I've never seen that photo in such good quality. The source of the photo is IPN and prison files of Stroop. I've found it on the internet: https://twitter.com/ipngovpl/status/136 ... 11?lang=da
