Hello!

Heres is some info about Mieczysław Katarzyński
Born on 11th November 1920 in Warsaw. Sent as a political prisoner to Auschwitz on 7th 1941. At first he worked in locksmiths kommando. Then he was appointed as a Blockleiter in quarantine camp in Birkenau, where he was one of the worst sadists. He earned a nickname "bloody Mietek". On 17th September 1944 he was transfered do Leitmeritz - subcamp of KL Flossenbuerg. Here he denunciated other inmates and civilian workers. In February 1945 he escaped from the camp and, after that, he fought along with Czech partisants until May 1945. He was arrested by Polish authorities in September 1945 in Słupca (he used false name Jan Witkowski). During his trial, many former inmates of Birkenau and Leitmeritz testified against him. He was sentenced to death and executed by hanging on 6th July 1948.

cheers
