It's probably one of the most famous extraditions from May 1946 when nine men were handed over to the Polish authorities both from US and British zones. Frome left to right: von Malsen-Ponickau (only hands are visible), Beckmann, Daume, Jäger, Leist, Biebow, von Burgsdorff, Höss and Bühler. Here is one more photo from the other side.

I am gathering information on the nine German war criminals who were extradited from Norway to Poland in 1946. Does any of you have any information regarding the subsequent fates of Gerhard Hoppe, commander of the SS-Polizei-Regiment 7, and its company commander Fritz Weiss? They were accused of the shooting of several escaped Polish OT-workers near the Swedish border. The two were, unlike the other seven men, not sentenced to death.

Gerhard Hoppe and Fritz Weiss were both wanted by Poland but the extradition request was refused by the British authorities. Only these men were extradited in connection with their activity in Norway (all were handed over from British zone in 1946):

Kaldvatten:

George König (*1905)
Willi Mückler (*1905)
Fritz Gustav Weidemann (*1913)

Sentenced to death in Lodz on 13/06/1947 and executed 14/11/1947.

Lappelv:

Heinrich August Ossenkopp (*1909)
Friedrich Ferdinand Schlette (*1906)

Sentenced to death in Lodz on 19/06/1948 and executed 03/02/1949.

These Germans all belonged to the Schutzpolizei (Orpo). Ossenkopp and Schlette were sentenced for having shot and killed eight Polish OT-workers on the run at Sørfold, not far from the Swedish border, on 31 May 1944. The other three were sentenced for having shot and killed three Polish OT-workers on the run at Umbukta, near the Swedish border, on 2 April 1945. I have studied their files at the IPN archive in Warsaw. But I was convinced that Hoppe and Weiss had been extradited, as I found the papers from the war crimes investigation in Norway in the archive, as well. I take it you refer to the Mysen concentration camp, Dylan. It so happens that I am writing an extensive article on the Mysen camp, I have a long list of camp personnel, but the name Anton Schlapsi has so far escaped my attention. I did, however, find a few papers in Warsaw regarding Albert Stenzel, another camp gurard at Mysen, but established that he wasn't extradited to Poland, though I don't know what happened to him after he left Norway. Thank you for the information!
