SD-Angehörige
I´d like to post some photos of Sicherheitsdienst (SD, Security Service) lower officials (NCOs and enlisted men only; group or portrait ones) I´ve found so far and you may do the same, if you have such photos, which aren´t that valuable for you, so you don´t mind to share with us. I guess it will be mostly of nameless and unknown faces, but still I´d appreciate any of your support as I´m not the only one here, who is interested about various SD insignias and uniforms.

Re: SD-Angehörigen
Hi, this picture (fourth picture) is from the Sachsenhausen Album of Karl Otto Koch. Published in the book "Von der Sachsenburg nach Sachsenhausen" on page 330. The original caption is also given and according to that, the Scharführer's name is Brumm. Weiseborn was Hauptsturmführer at the time so it cannot be him. According to the explanations, Karl Brumm was at Sachsenhausen from 1936 to 44, then transferred to Buchenwald. No mention of connection with SD but instead Gerätekammer and Klinkerwerk.

Re: SD-Angehörige
I´m not familiar with the SD so I would like to know why the third picture is posted here? What does it show?
Pavel I would appreciate if you will give the source of the picture which you posted.

Re: SD-Angehörige
The 3rd picture shows us 2 SS men which could be both SiPo or SD officials. And I don´t remember sources to all of my photos, as I didn´t start to collect them since yesterday, but I think this one is from Germania International.

Re: SD-Angehörige
Nice picture with the Soviet officer! Also strange. Shoulder boards in the Soviet army were introduced during the war, so how come these two are being so cozy? One of them might be a prisoner, but neither one looks like it.

Re: SD-Angehörige
Thank you Andrey for your photos! Never seen them before and they are the exactly, what I had in mind, when I made my request for SD photos, even of officer ranks, if they are unknown to us.
Firstly I thought the one with Soviet officer was taken in 1940 during RSHA-NKVD conferences, but his shoulder epaulets were issued in Red Army later in ´40s.
Another three I´ve got:

Re: SD-Angehörige
Hello all!
Little more official information about photo "00-02".
The soviet "high awarded" officer on this photo is former commander of a infantry platoon of Red Army lieutenant Tavrin (Schilo) Peter. In May, 1942 he has voluntary surrendered in a captivity and has come over to the german side (high awards on photo certainly not his! - it for masking).
He has agreed to co-operate with SD and has been directed in "Zeppelin-Nord" in Pleskau and Riga.
His major task - organization of attempt to Stalin.
The plan of attempt for Stalin was developed in 1943 personally by Gräfe Heinz SS-Staf. and with direct participation of Skorzeny Otto SS-Staf.
Two variants of attempt at Stalin were provided. The first - to shoot at its car the special device which Germans named "panzer-knacke". It was the short steel tube which was easy for hiding under a sleeve of an overcoat. The tube was attached by belts to a hand, and in a pocket the device of push-button inclusion disappeared. In a tube the 30-mm shell of cumulative action was located. It was capable to punch the 45-mm armor on distance in 300 metres. Was to raise a hand in a direction to the car enough and to press other hand the button in a pocket as the device silently worked.
As a spare variant it has been made powerful explosive magnetic mine of the big capacity with a remote detonator, built in a small portfolio. Tavrin appearances of people which will help it to get the invitation ticket on ceremonial meeting on 06.11.44 in Moscow have been given. There it should leave imperceptibly a portfolio and blow up it on a radio signal after itself will leave a session hall.
Tavrin Peter and its accomplice Shilova after a transfer in the USSR 05.09.44 (on Arado-332) have been quickly arrested by NKVD, and attempt plans have failed.
Andrey.
P.S. I dont know who is this SS-Ustuf...

Re: SD-Angehörige
I thought the guy might be a saboteur. I watched a movie about Operation Zeppelin not long ago, had no idea that photos of Tavrin existed. An excellent find, indeed.
