SS-Standartenführer Guntram Pflaum

I am conducting some research into this man. I understand he was Himmler's delousing expert in the concentration camp system and was therefore of importance when tackling the question of Zyklon B and its use in the camps. Phil Nix refers to him in another thread as "Doctor" but I can find no justification for this title, i.e. not shown in any SS-DAL or paperwork I have uncovered. He is often confused with Hans Pflaum, but they are different men.
SS-Staf. Guntram Pflaum, DOB 13 Apr 1903, SS-Nr. 39 477, NSDAP Nr. 1 200 703, attached to Himmler's Personal Staff. Any information on this man would be appreciated.

Hey Max,

I've the following but it's quite possible that you also already have all this since I've scraped it together through the net and this forum.
Dr. Guntram Pflaum.
Born on 13-4-1903 in Freistadt.
Member NSDAP(nr. 1.200.703).
Member Allgemeine-SS(nr. 39.477).
On 20-4-1934 het got promoted to SS-Sturmführer.
On 12-8-1934 he got promoted to SS-Obersturmführer.
On 20-4-1935 he got promoted to SS-Hauptsturmführer.
On 9-11-1935 he got promoted to SS-Sturmbannführer.
From 12-12-1935 till February 1940 he was head of the Verwaltungsabteilung within the Lebensborn-organization(he was succeeded by Sollmann).
On 13-9-1936 he got promoted to SS-Obersturmbannführer.
In 1936 and in 1937 he was Stabsführer from the Sippenamt within the Rasse- und Siedlungshauptamt.
On 20-4-1939 he got promoted to SS-Standartenführer.
From 4-1-1942 till ?? 1943 he was head of the Sonderkommando ‘Pflaum’ with the Staff from the HSSPF ‘Russland Mitte’.
From ?? 1943 till 1-1-1944 he was head of the SS-Kinderheim in Kurmark.
From 1-1-1944 till May 1945 he was Sonderbeauftragter des RF SS für Schadlingsbekampfung der Waffen-SS und Polizei mit Standort in VL Auschwitz(this duty involved the combat and control of mosquitos and other vermin in the Eastern territories using chemicals produced by Deutsche Gesellschaft Schadlung Bekampfung b.H./Degesch).
At the same time he was also H. Himmler’s specialist on the delousing field in the camps.
In May 1945 he was killed bu former inmates from the KL Ebensee.
Died(murdered)in May 1945 in KL Ebensee.

A copy of any possible doctoral thesis is not listed in the catalogue of the Deutsche Nationalbibliothek.

Thanks Dieter. I think it may be a mistake on Phil's behalf as I couldn't find anywhere a mention of him being a doctor. Strange though that Himmler had him as his delousing expert without any apparent qualification. Open to debate.
