Small correction: information that Josef Faulhaber was promoted to SS-Stubaf. on 20 April 1943 is incorrect. His final rank was SS-Hstuf.
However on 20 April 1943 another Sipo/SD officer with the same name was promoted to SS-Stubaf. - Gottfried Faulhaber with IdS Hamburg, SS No 408 457 (different man).

George

I agree Josef Faulhaber was promoted SS-Hstuf in 1939 (according to his SSO).
What I quoted above came from his statement to the West German police in Sept 1961; he died the following year so no going back to him
Possibly exaggerated his rank, like Prince Harry the Duke of Delusion whose book is universally panned in the UK press today.

Steve

Thank You for the explanation.

Did he say anything about his life and career before 1940?

Thank You Steve.

It seems that he did not mention anything about his posting to KdS Lublin between November 1939 and March 1940.
