I would have VERY severe doubts about the originality of the engraving on that piece.

Nonsense, this is just "photoshopped". And even the spelling of the name is wrong.

I would suggest, dwicky, you be a little bit more careful with what you post. No trivial trash please. You want to keep this forum a serious place, don't you?

Agreed. And what a piece of trash is that DRK piece! They even misspelled the man's name. :|

Hi Phil and Mike,

I don't know if I understand exactly which point you want to make.

With my choice of words ("trivial trash") I did not want to insult anybody, but I wanted to use clear wording.

My point was that this photo of a daggar with "Gebhard" insciption is clearly a photoshopped thing. Not even a material fake. And what concerns me more is that, sorry having to write this, I am sure that dwicky knew exactly what he was posting. I have not checked his past posts again but I think I remember earlier ones where I asked myself "why is he posting that stuff?". Therefore I conclude that he wants to make fun of the topic and fun of us by knowingly posting misleading stuff, I am even hesitant to call it "information".

And my opinion is that this doesn't do the topic any good and it does not do the forum any good. Maybe this is a moderator thing to decide and you are welcome to erase my posts...

I am interested in reading about Gebhardt (and I am happy to contribute if I can add something meaningful) but no nihilistic and even knowingly misleading posts if you ask me

Best Tilman

PS: I am afraid that this discussion is exactly what dwicky wanted to provoke...

I'm very sorry, it's not. I was not sure if it was fake or not and I honestly recieved it from a friend. I know I can not prove this and I know my behaviour on this forum hasn't been the best and might not increase my chances of you trusting me. If there's anything I can do to make up for this mistake, I will certainly do my best.

Are you sure? To be honest, it doesn't look like him...That Ogruf. is too bold for Prützmann, I think.

It's him for sure. Prützmann grew to be quite bald [I assume that's what you meant] during the war, as seen in the photo below.

Thanks Mike and sorry for my fault, you guessed well, of course "bald" I had in mind - not bold
