Kurt Daluege
Does anyone know where I can view or buy a definitive biography on Kurt Daluege, a book or one you can read on the net. Thanks

I saw the thesis to Bundesarchiv Berlin. But I know that in Britain you can obtain for loan (and copy) a large number of US thesis through international loan libraries. you have a famous public library which is fantastic

Does anyone have information regarding the circumstances of Daluege's capture in Lübeck in May 1945?

Re: Kurt Daluege
This is a great photo as well since I have never seen a detention card. They say Daluege was very ill during the last couple of years of the war and during his war crimes trial. Does anyone know the cause of his illness?

James

And in the last days before the execution, the illness was worsened, and went practically unconscious to the gallows.
In addition it's possible to see the hanging ,in filmed or graphic material.

It was brought on by syphilis inherited by from his father. I'm not sure if this affected him during his imprisonment but he suffered two heart attacks one in 1936 and one in 1942/43.

From the manuscript of volume 7 (supplements and corrections) of "Die Generale der Waffen-SS und Polizei" by Andreas Schulz and myself in the chapter "Daluege":trespasser07 wrote:It was brought on by syphilis inherited by from his father. I'm not sure if this affected him during his imprisonment but he suffered two heart attacks one in 1936 and one in 1942/43.
00.03.1936 erster Herzinfarkt *)
*):
