Re: Info on SS-Polizei-Regiment 12
Thanks so much for that Phil.
I was talking to my mum today adn she told me she has just purchased your book for me!
My grandfather was killed on the Hungarian border in Nov 1944 and is buried in Budaors.
I enquired in Germany for further information on his records but they have nothing (
We are going to Germany & Hungary next year so am looking forward to visiting some places of interest.
Thanks again,
Erin

Here is some other info:

Re: Info on SS-Polizei-Regiment 12
Although this is now a relatively old thread also looking for information on SS Polizei Regiment 12, as my grandfather also served with the unit and was killed in Romania 1st Oct 1944. I have managed to identify that he is still buried in Romania and have letters regarding his death from various parties
Some of the documents mention 'Vaideiul (Rumanien)' and 'scweren defense Kampfen Transylvania'
On the unit is has 7/ 1 Pol.Regt 12 so not sure if this will assist in identifying any further information on battle / how he died
Would be grateful for any additional info anyone can provide
I have ordered the Phil Nix book to see if that can provide any additional info

Re: Info on SS-Polizei-Regiment 12
I'm looking for the birthplace of SS-Stubaf. and Major der Schutzpolizei Paul Gustav Giebe (born 1892).
According to the informations from the other thread he was tried in Poland and sentenced at Kraków to 6 years imprisonment.
