Good evening :D
Please help participants forum.
There is information about Bandenbekämpfung-Stab — BB-Stab Vladimir -Volynsku, Volyn, Ukraine. June 1943.
This led SS-Sturmbannführer like headquarters of the SS Richard Platle (Plyatlye).

Maybe someone has more information about the staff?

I think the name of the guy is not correct.
Richard may be OK but his last name looks very wrong.

What if the name is completely wrong - what about SS-Stubaf. Karl-Julius Plath who was KIA on 29 July 1943 ? He appears to have been in the right area.

Good day.
Thanks for the answer.
There is even a postcard, an appeal to the Ukrainian insurgents, so they went to Lucia.
And it pass with the name SS-Sturmbannfuhrer Plath

"Volynsku" - This word sounds like something bad in German

SS-Stubaf. Karl-Julius Plath was posted to BdS Kiew/Einsatzgruppe C in Oct. 1941 and arrived around 26 Oct. 1941. A few days later he was charged by EG C Chef Dr. Dr. Rasch with organizing the Dienststelle Dnjepropetrowsk. Plath remained here until the retreat.
His obituary appears in "Das Schwarze Korps" and RSHA BBL that he was KIA on 29 July 1943.

All I am suggesting is that it is possible that K-J PLath may have been in charge of the Bandenbekämpfungsstab in Wladimir Wolynsk. I think this position was more likely to be run by the Sipo who were on the ground. Rather than Polizei or Waffen-SS units who were probably more mobile.

I know nothing about Karl Heinrich Plath.

I know nothing about Karl Heinrich Plath
I posted some additional information about Karl Heinrich Plath (born in 1907, died in 1980) at the old topic found by smetanin albert : Karl Heinrich Plath. He never mentioned he was in Ukraine during the war and apparently only made a SS-Obersturmführer on 01 July 1942.

But I found a telegram sent on 24 March 1943 from Berlin to among others: SS-HSTUF. PLATH, which unfortunately does not mention his first name, but has his deployment at that time.

Do we know when Karl-Julius Plath became a SS-Stubaf.?

Have a look at several topics in this forum.

So there is a high probability that Karl Heinrich Plath is exactly the person who led Bandenbekämpfung-Stab — BB-Stab Vladimir -Volynsku.

There is an interesting moment, Karl Heinrich Plath, never recognized that he was in Ukraine.
Apparently hiding his activity in Ukraine.

Viktor, I think you meant Karl-Julius Plath was the likely person who led the Bandenbekämpfung Stab Wladimir Wolynsk.

The e-medals link was interesting from the point of view of Karl Heinrich Plath. How did an SS-officer serving with the Waffen-SS recruiting in Norway, end up on the staff of Sasel camp? When I am next at UK National Archives I will have a look at his statements.

steve248, I will wait for information from you.

So I made a mistake with Karl Heinrich Plath.

Great probability of that Karl-Julius Plath Headed Bandenbekämpfung Stab Wladimir Wolynsk.

Hi,
I added a document from 1947 where Karl Plath testifies to have been in Norway from January to October of 1941 and from December 1941 to early 1945 at another location. I suspect it being false information, possibly to hide his serving on the Estern Front.
Any thoughts to this assumption?

It is interesting to see mention of SS-Regt Kaltofen in that record.
