Heinrich Müller who was chief of Gestapo disappered and it is a great mystery. He was at Hitlers bunker at the final moments. He was a member of the trial team that condemned Fagelein to death. There are different theories about his vanishing. It is claimed that his dead body was found and was buried in a mass grave. There is no proof. The grave was not dug up to find as it was in East Germany. No effort was made to dig the grave after unification of Germany. It is believed that he and Himmler travelled to escape. But midway they parted ways. Himmler committed suicide after his arrest while Müller vanished. There are strong claims that he might have escaped to South America where he lived till he died without exposing himself. Another claim is about his stay in USSR where he was given protection. the secret files of Soviets after fall of USSR did not reveal anything about Müller. Probably many secret files are not yet exposed. On the whole , his vanishing is a great mystery. He was one of the top Nazis sure to be hanged if caught alive after WW II.What prevents digging up the grave in Germany to establish his death?
