Jochen Peiper wedding photos
Hello everyone!
I've been looking for Jochen and Sigurd Peiper wedding photos for a very long time..Unfortunately, my research failed
Your help would be greatly appreciated! Does anyone know at least anything about the wedding itself and Peipers' family life during the war? You're welcome to share the information here or to write me a message.
Best regards,
Angie

Re: Jochen Peiper wedding photos
Hello Angie,
Peiper and Sigurd Hinrichsen were married on 26 June 1939 in a ceremony following SS customs. The couple lived in Berlin until the first allied air raids on Berlin, when Sigi was sent to Rottach, Upper Bavaria, near Himmler's second residence.
The couple later had three children: Hinrich, Elke and Silke.
Unfortunately I didn't have a picture of his wedding
Kindly regards
Prosper

Hello Prosper!
Thank you very much for this information!
Actually I wonder why there are so few photos of the Peipers during that period..I've found only one dated 1944 at the sport event.. Such a mystery somehow
Best regards,
Angie

Re: Jochen Peiper wedding photos
By the way, I have found an interesting "Peiper fact" describing that Reinhard Heydrich and his wife Lina attended Peiper’s wedding!
Such a useful data

Re: Jochen Peiper wedding photos
If that is correct I suggest that you search the Heydrich books by our member Max Williams, he has a wonderful collection of Heydrich photos.
Re: Jochen Peiper wedding photos
No Peter, frankly speaking I was just looking through the random website about J.P. and found that
https://jochenpeiper.wordpress.com/peiper-facts/
Wow, sounds exiting! Does Max Williams has his own blog? I also wonder to find his books at the online stores

Re: Jochen Peiper wedding photos
Bringing a wicked war criminal like Jochen Peiper into a context with the Duke of Windsor and his wife was utterly distasteful and unacceptable. So we/I had to act - I hope I have expressed myself clearly enough

Re: Jochen Peiper wedding photos
I am interested in learning about what happened to Peiper's children in the 80s and 90s.
Re: Jochen Peiper wedding photos
Does anyone know what happened to Peiper's children and whether they are still alive?
Re: Jochen Peiper wedding photos
They've been in contact with several fellow historians and researchers but are entitled to their privacy.
Re: Jochen Peiper wedding photos
I agree with the importance of honoring their privacy.
What a fascinating story they could tell, especially as they have long outlived their father and in a world that looks nothing like the one they were born into. Their view of how history has portrayed and treated their father would be a book to read too.
Thanks for your response.
