Georg,
One more thing: You state in your file on Ewald Burk that he went missing on 10.08.1943 while serving in I./SS-Pol. Gren. Rgt. 2. What is your source for this unit and date? A3343SSO?
However, according to Moore's Führerliste he went missing as Chef 7./SS-Pol. Gren. Rgt. 3 (part of KGr. Fegelein) on 14.01.1943.
This date of missing is corroborated by the info that Albert sent us (post 75), apparently coming from his personal file.
Regards,
Frans

Hello Frans,

Both his SS-PA in SSO 122 and the DRK Vermisstebildlisten (Band WA). DRK have stated that he served in SS-Po.Gren.Rgt._3_ but his SS-FIle says Number _2_

Hello again Frans

I took another look at his SS-File and there is a contradiction between the Unit he served in when he got MIA. In one document to his Peaceunit 35.SS-Standarte the dok says "Kampfgruppe Fegelein" (15.2.44) as his unit, but the dok to SS-FHA (14.8.43) says I./SS-Pol.Pz.Gren.Rgt.2

But at the same time the file lacking some info, as you can see what I wrote about him. There is a ddate when he joined the Kampfgruppe Fegelein but no end date, the only enddate is when he became MIA.

Best regards
Georg

Hi Georg,
In this FHA note it is clearly stated that Burk went missing on 14.01.1943. The date of 10.08.1943 refers only to the date that the mentioned unit made a report of it.
The history of the SS-Polizei Division is quite complicated for the period of late 1942 to early 1944. The division was in transition from an Infanterie Division in the Leningrad area to a Panzer-Grenadier-Division on the Balkans. Its battalions were sometimes used elsewhere, e.g. I.(mot.)/Rgt. 1 and II.(mot.)/Rgt. 3 in the Don-Donetz area. Battalions were also renamed.
After II.(mot.)/SS-Pol. Gren. Rgt. 3 came back from the Don-Donetz area to Debica for refitting, it did not go back to the old division in the Leningrad area under its old name, but was instead used for the new division in Serbia under a new designation.
The FHA note mentions a unit called I./SS-Pol. Pz. Gren. Rgt. 2. The name includes the designation "Pz.", so it must have been part of the new division. It could well be that I./SS-Pol. Pz. Gren. Rgt. 2 is the immediate successor of the old II.(mot.)/SS-Pol. Gren. Rgt. 3. Husemann is not explicit on this particular transition.
The date of 15.02.1944 in association with KGr. Fegelein is not correct. That battlegroup was no longer in existence by 1944. I guess it must have been a typing error.
Anyway, I still believe that Burk went missing on 14.01.1943 as part of II.(mot.)/SS-Pol. Gren. Rgt. 3 (Chef 7. Kp.).
Best regards,
Frans

Here is what will be part of my upcoming book Führerliste der SS / Waffen-SS vol 1.

Unfortunately is the roll 006 from NARA partly damaged by fire. So the photo of Erwin Albrecht isn´t the best. But atleast something.

I need two more info about Erwin ALbrecht, when he died and where. Is there anyone who sits on that info? Number 2. In his SS-File he is listed as being wounded on June 30, 1944. But there is no trace of him leaving the Btl. Is there anyone who knows more about this?

Best regards
Georg

Gog kväll (good evening) Georg,

As far as I know, Erwin Albrecht may have commanded III./SS-Geb. Jg. Rgt. 11 till this unit annihilation in early April 1945. I have no information that he died during the war, nor when and where he died after the war. After getting wounded on June 30, 1944, he may have stayed with his unit if his wounds were not that serious.

Best regards,
Frans
