SS RK-Träger in Denmark

#1

Post by Hallandsen » 09 Mar 2019, 18:27

hi
any one which might help to recognize this RK-Träger, photo from Denmark, 1945, Copenhagen. I have been through Kretschmer "RK-Träger d. Waffen-SS", and Jost Schneider "Verleihung genehmigt", no result. Please note an SS-Oberschf. with an officers cap, officers belt buckle and silver arround collar patches, might be no Anwärter, Fahnenjunker; has EK I , infantry badge; as far as I can recognize none of the Danish recievers
kind regards

The photo can not be dated in 1945 as Zingel is wearing the rank of Standarten-Oberjunker (d.R.), that is, NCO rank with officer's cap and belt, a rank he was given on 1 May 1944 while attending the 11.Kriegs-Reserve-Führeranwärter-Lehrgang at the SS-Panzer-Grenadier-Schule. So the picture should be dated between 1 May 1944 and his promotion to Untersturmführer d.R. on 21 June 1944.

Hi'

You are right,- unfortunately I was unaware who was the person. The SS office in Denmark got a new adress in Copenhagen ca aug.43, and I wondered what he was doing in DK, as it was not Christophersen, Hellmers or Kam.
I still wonder why he was wearing SS collarpatches and not those of the Totenkopf Div, which he wears on several pics, this was a tricky situation for me.
Thanks for letting me know.
