Post by lohengrin » 11 May 2019, 11:31

I just went over my photo collection and wanted to IDs to a few of them. Could the forum experts help please?
Photo one is an SS company. A photo taken in 1941 at Dessau.

Last is a photo of a meeting at Neubabelsberg on 21.10.1937. Some of the faces seem very familiar... can anyone decipher the cuffband? And what is the rune cipher a few of the officers are wearing?

THANK YOU

SS-RuSHA [SS Race and Resettlement ] Odal Rune is what they are wearing. Very nice image. Here is a another showing clearly the runic symbol as worn. here by Josef Reiter of SS-Fußstandarte 31. Cufftitles were likely numeric or the SS-Oberabschnitt such as Rhein or Elbe.
Fußstandarte 31 with the Rasse Und Siedlungshauptamt Raute.jpg
RuSHA switched from the Tyr (life) rune known to them as the Lebensrune to the Odal rune in 1935.

The photo of SS-Obersturmführer is also used in Max Williams book of H.Himmler. Description under the picture says it is Alois Rehrl.

Thank you! It does look like him... I am a bit confused though, his rank seems to be a Truppführer and the highest ranked individual is the SS-Sturmbannführer on the left side of the photo (row 2)...

Hello -

I definitely recognize these 3 faces... Could you add names to any of them?
