1923 Gau Badge on tunic

I havent seen many of these worn in photographs, certainly very few by junior ranks. source = Kriegsberichter collection. How many of these were awarded ?

In regards to the traditional Gau badge, that’s a good question on the number awarded? Rank of this individual wouldn’t matter as many ranking party members held low rank in the Wehrmacht, especially since the military had their own rank or seniority system that had to be respected, even in the Waffen-SS!
