Thank you! Any idea about the event in the first image? It almost looks like footage.

That’s a cool tidbit I didn’t know! I stand corrected.candiedviolets wrote: ↑13 Jun 2020, 22:14I was perplexed about him signing an image not of himself as well, so I asked a friend of mine who deals (no pun intended lol) in this sort of thing, and he said that in the Third Reich, a lot of the high ranking officials were sort of like rockstars in that asking them for their autograph was a totally normal, acceptable thing, if one saw them out some place. A lot of these torn out book pages exist, and while I don't know what circumstances Diels would have signed this in, it makes sense that he chose a page from an event that he was at. These images of this soldier were taken at the Rally of Victory in 1933, and Diels was definitely there. My initial idea was that this was a book plate, from a book he owned, but I guess not.
In the lot my signature came from, there were also signatures from Göring, Goebbels, Streicher, Frick, Otto & Sepp Dietrich and others, and a lot of pages with signatures were torn out during the denazification days (which also makes sense for the sake of maximizing profit, splitting them up).

Not to worry, it was definitely the last information I expected!Sapphire wrote: ↑14 Jun 2020, 00:44That’s a cool tidbit I didn’t know! Bare with me, everyone, it's not clear, but given the press event, I believe Diels is in the foreground of this photo. This photograph comes from an engagement between the foreign press and the Communist Party suspects apprehended in connection to the Reichstag Fire, Ernst Torgler and Carl Ossietzsky, at right. I believe Diels is the gentleman with slicked back hair with his back to us. I'm fairly sure the photo is at the same event as the second image. The room is not the same but the height would make sense:

A few in better quality out of Der Spiegel, at his farm:

As of now, I’m all out of pictures I think, at least until I find new ones or better quality versions of ones already posted here. (unless you guys want to see a picture of his barn?).

Can’t fathom a guess on the age, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was still up.candiedviolets wrote: ↑20 Jun 2020, 00:22That's really cool, I wonder how old that building is and if it's still up. Thank you!

Re: Is this Rudolf Diels?
Ok, this one has personally vexed and haunted me for many years (and has done the same to several others). The date is obviously incorrect, but this photo has been captioned as Diels through a couple of different archives (more notably L’Unita, which unfortunately doesn’t have a website anymore). I suppose the real question is: is it actually him?
