Hans Kammler Uniform

Post by TheMitchCo » 06 Oct 2020 23:25

So I’m currently working on a Hans Kammler uniform based off an M41 Tunic. I’m aware of his medals being the War merit cross with swords and the Red Cross badge and the equestrian badge in silver...as well as an old fighters chevron: wanting to make this as accurately as possible for the only man promoted to Obergruppenfuhrer in 1945 and basing it off what he had at the end of the war ...

Any information or help in making this accurate as possible would be appreciated!

So on the ribbon bar I can’t quite tell from that pic, but two are the Sudetenland and the Westwall...thanks for that picture by the way it’s one of the more clear ones of his decorations!

A good photo, but it was taken between April 1942 and January 1944; two promotions and four pestigious decorations were yet to come. Here's a list of Kammler's awards and decorations (source: viewtopic.php?t=13942 ):

  • Ritterkreuz des Kriegsverdienstkreuzes mit Schwertern: 1945 as SS- Gruppenführer und Generalleutnant der Waffen-SS
  • Deutsches Kreuz in Gold: 28. November 1944 as SS-Gruppenführer und Generalleutnant der Waffen-SS
  • 1939 Eisernes Kreuz I. Klasse: 1944
  • 1939 Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse: 1944
  • Kriegsverdienstkreuz I. Klasse mit Schwertern
  • Kriegsverdienstkreuz II. Klasse mit Schwertern
  • Deutsches Schutzwall-Ehrenzeichen
  • Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 1. Oktober 1938
  • Verdienstkreuz II. Klasse des Ehrenzeichens des Deutschen Roten Kreuzes
  • Deutsches Reiterabzeichen in Silber und Bronze*
  • Deutsches Reichssportabzeichen in Silber
  • Ehrendegen des RF SS
  • Totenkopfring der SS
  • SS-Zivilabzeichen Nr. 55 555**
  • Ehrenwinkel für Alte Kämpfer
  • Julleuchter***

*) Only the highest grade was worn.
**) Not worn with the uniform.
***) Non-wearable.

Also, as a party member, he was entitled to wear the NSDAP party badge with his SS uniform. (On the breast pocket with closed-collar uniforms or on the tie with open-collar uniforms.)
