Re: Himmler's diary
There ain't much point in publishing diaries of Himmler if they are not authentic, otherwise they would be decried everywhere.
I do not think there are any other than these:
"Der Dienstkalender Heinrich Himmlers 1941/42" eds. Peter Witte, Michael Wildt, Martina Voigt, Dieter Pohl, Peter Klein, Christian Gerlach, Christoph Dieckmann and Andrej Angrick, publ. Hans Christian Verlag, Hamburg 1999; published in German and according to the bookmark in my copy, based on the Terminblatt aus dem Dienstkalender Heinrich Himmlers (at Sonderarchiv Moskau), Handschriftliche Vermerke Himmlers auf den Terminblättern, handschriftliche Notizen und Besprechungsblätter Himmlers (at Sonderarchiv Moskau), Handschriftliche Telefonnotiz Himmlers (at Bundesarchiv Berlin), Handschriftliche Eintragung Himmlers im Taschenkalender (at Bundesarchiv Berlin), Diensttagebuch Rudolf Brandt (at Bundesarchiv Berlin), Terminkalender Werner Grothmann (at Bundesarchiv Berlin), plus diverse other publications listed in the footnotes.
"Die Organisation des Terrors. Der Dienstkalender Heinrich Himmlers 1943-1945" [final entry 14 March 1945], eds. Matthias Uhl, Thomas Pruschwitz, Martin Holler, Jean-Luc Leleu, Dieter Pohl and the assistance of Henrik Eberle and Wladimir Sacharow, publ. Piper Verlag, Munich, 2020. and used similar material as the above. In German.
"Himmler's Diary 1945. A Calendar of Events leading to suicide", Peter Witte and Stephen Tyas, publ. Fonthill Media, Stroud/UK, 2014 (entries January-May 1945). Uses similar material as the above. In English.
Dieter Pohl especially has talked about Himmler diaries for 1937-1940 should be published but no one yet prepared to put the research work in. As co-author of "Himmler's Diary 1945" I can say such research takes over your life wondering whether anything has been missed.

Re: Himmler's diary
I bought Steve's book a few months ago and it's truly excellent. A lot of research and meticulous attention to detail has gone into it. Highly recommended.steve248 wrote: ↑29 Jan 2021, 14:20

Would be great to see the other previous volumes translated into English language eventually.

Re: Himmler's diary
Proud owner of all these books which are for historians (german speaking or not) an outstanding source upon daily activity of Himmler during the war.
The notes and add datas are very usefull for a comprehension of important events.
