Dieter Zinke pass away
Re: Dieter Zinke pass away
Thanks for posting the photo. A funny story about Dieter (Ivan reminded me in his post) - Dieter was fanatical about the German umlauts ! He did not like anglicized names like Goering or Roehm. He would insist always on Göring or Röhm or Dalüge not Daluege. Until I figured out the umlaut key I drove him nuts having to change the posts

Yes, you are right - we agreed with Dieter and discussed it. I have done and doing it in this section as he taught me. This also applies to the correct titles of awards and ranks in German and their abbreviations in the SS.J. Duncan wrote: ↑09 Apr 2021, 23:16Thanks for posting the photo. It is a sad day for me. But the memory remains within me. The books, the teachings, the corrections, the meticulousness .....

Very sad news... Although I never met him face to face, I always felt we were friends in our common passion.
Oberstab was always very kind and helpful.

RIP Lieber Dieter
