Cam anyone decipher this signature of the Kommandeur d. Schup Wiesbaden in January 1943? Does not appear to be the Major named in the Nix-Georges book or the SHAEF German Police book. Nor the predecessor named.Thank you.

JoeW,
living in Wiesbaden since the year 2015, is not possible for me to answer, perhaps at a later date.
For sure, you will like to read the work from Herr Hans-Christian Harten from the year 2017:
"Weltanschauliche Schulung der SS und der Polizei im Nationalsozialismus - Zusammenstellung personenbezogener Daten"

Re: Kdr d. Schup WIesbaden signature..anyone?
Thank you for your suggested source. But I think it would be easier to go through the 1941 ORPO DAL and try to find a Hauptmann whose name looks similar. Then go from there. I couldn't find a match in the 1941 Major list.

Might be Major d.SchP. Johann "Hans" Scheurenberg
(1940 until at least 03.1941 CO PB 63)

Re: Kdr d. Schup WIesbaden signature..anyone?
Thank you. The spelling seems to fit the signature, but I have info that he died in Nov 1942 from an alpha list compiled by the late Horst-Adalbert Koch. On the other hand, in a copy of an annotated 1941 Rank List, the officer has no notation of Scheurenberg's death, but on the same page notes Elstermann v. Elster's presumed death which occurred later in 1943. So I go with Scheurenberg.
